Deyrolle—the legendary Parisian establishment dedicated to nature, art, and education—shares twenty-one vintage educational plates devoted to trees, fruit, flowers, buds, and seeds from its archives, the earliest of which were produced around 1871 by the “Deyrolle Educational Museum.” From the majestic oak to the humble carrot, and from colorful exotic fruit to regional agricultural maps, this selection of high-quality, easily detachable nature prints showcases the charm of French botanical art.
Emmanuelle Polle’s text on the back of each print provides the keys to understanding and appreciating these exceptional plates, in a veritable homage to the plant kingdom. The “Gardener Prince” Louis Albert de Broglie—who owns Deyrolle and is known for his long-standing commitment to biodiversity, sustainable agriculture, and environmental protection—contributes a foreword.
